This Startup in the PLTS Sector Receives Funding of IDR 510 Billion from Mitsui & CO and SSIA


PT Xurya Daya Indonesia (Xurya) has received additional series A funding from the Japanese giant Mitsui & Co., a start-up provider of solar power plant rental and installation services, PT Xurya Daya Indonesia (Xurya). (Mitsui) and PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA) reached US$33 million or equivalent to Rp 510 billion on Thursday (20/10).

Xurya Managing Director and Co-Founder Eka Himawan appreciates the trust given by Mitsui, Surya Semesta Internusa and Xurya’s partners and customers.

“We will allocate this funding support for the expansion of PLTS development to accelerate the clean and sustainable energy transition for companies in Indonesia. Mitsui and Surya Semesta Internusa are also Xurya’s strategic partners to reach companies in Indonesia,” he said.

According to him, Xurya plans to allocate funding for the expansion of PV mini-grid development which has tripled since the beginning of 2022. In addition, the funding will also be used for technological developments and adding human resources to boost the company’s performance in accelerating the implementation of renewable energy for energy. clean and sustainable in Indonesia.

Especially at this time, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has targeted the new and renewable energy mix to reach 23% by 2025.

“We aim to contribute to Xurya’s growth and Indonesia’s decarbonization by leveraging our expertise developed worldwide and our extensive network in Indonesia,” he explained.

Xurya, which previously received US$21.5 million Series A funding in December 2021 from East Ventures (Growth fund), Saratoga, Schneider Electric, and New Energy Nexus has now received additional funding from Mitsui and PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA), bringing the total funding reached US$33 million or equivalent to Rp501 billion.

Xurya received significant start-up capital from SEACEF (a fund managed by Clime Capital) dedicated to preparing clean energy businesses for large-scale investments.

Until the end of September 2022, Xurya’s business has grown very rapidly and now operates Rooftop Solar Power in more than 60 companies and is currently installing in more than 40 other companies.

President Director of PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA) Johannes Suriadjaja said the funding is a form of his support to accelerate the use of new renewable energy through the installation of solar panels (PLTS Roof), one of which is in industrial areas.
