Reporting from News Week (18/02), this man named Ryan Dubs has more than 1.4 million followers on his TikTok account. The video content always discusses the bottled mineral water he buys. Some drink brands have high prices.
“I spend around USD 2,000 (Rp 17 million) per month to buy expensive mineral water that is delivered directly to my house. As a mineral water socialite, I think it is a luxury,” he said.

“Where do I keep all that mineral water? I have four refrigerators, so they’re all stored there,” he continued.
Starting from mineral water with the VOSS brand to Fiji, he collects everything.
“I like VOSS mineral water, it’s one of my favorite brands,” he said.

Ryan himself never gave a clear reason why he chose to spend tens of millions of rupiah per month just for water.
“I don’t like the taste of tap water. I can’t drink it. I can only drink bottled water,” he said.
In America itself, tap water or tap water is indeed the main drink in every home. In contrast to Indonesia, where tap water or tap water here, not all of them meet hygiene standards that are safe for people to consume.
Because of this habit, Ryan actually gets blasphemy and criticism from many people.

Many also commented that Ryan’s habit indirectly contributed to plastic waste from the drink bottles he bought. Ryan also explained that he started looking for mineral water brands whose packaging did not use plastic anymore.
