Pokemon GO Withdrawn from Russia and Belarus

Pokemon GO developer Niantic pulled the game out of Russia and Belarus because of the recent war.

Quoted from Polygon, Sunday (13/3), games from Niantic, namely Pokemon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Ingress can no longer be downloaded in Russia and Belarus.

Niantic called this move a support for Ukraine in the midst of the Russian invasion.

“We are with the global community who wish for peace and a speedy resolution to the violence and suffering in Ukraine,” Niantic said on social media.

“Niantic games can no longer be downloaded in Russia and Belarus. And the game will also be suspended there soon,” said Niantic.

Niantic’s action is similar to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s move to suspend the PlayStation Store service in Russia.

The game console company Nintendo has postponed the shipment of all their products to Russia and the launch of the game for the Nintendo Switch.
