Peruri Achieves Parent-Owned Electronic Certification Operator Status

Information technology cannot be separated from people’s lives. Currently, people are very dependent on information technology, especially the use of cell phones. The greater the influence of technology, the greater the risk of misuse of information technology that can occur.

Therefore, the government issued the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE) and Government Regulation (PP) Number 71 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions. The aim is to guarantee legal certainty for people who carry out electronic transactions from crimes committed, via the internet and various other online crimes.

In connection with community transactions in the online world, people need to have electronic certificates to be used as electronic signatures and digital identities. So this can anticipate the occurrence of fraud. Because a person’s identity in the digital world is difficult to identify and validate.

Based on Government Regulation Number 71 of 2019, an electronic certificate must be issued by an Indonesian Electronic Certification Operator (PSrE) and obtain parental recognition from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics as the Indonesian Main PSrE.

The Republic of Indonesia Money Printing Public Company (Peruri) is the only PSrE BUMN that has received Bearer recognition status according to the Recognition Decree Number 340 of 2022.

As a holding PSrE, Peruri has fulfilled the requirements to provide Electronic Signature services with the highest level of security, namely with level 3 and level 4 Electronic Certificates for Indonesian Citizens (WNI) and Foreign Citizens (WNA) and certified Electronic Seals for Business Entities through Peruri Tera products.

In the digital space, it is difficult for individuals to identify who is in that space, so there must be a reliable verification system. Peruri as the Parent PSrE has the highest level 4 verification capabilities through facial biometric technology

“With this highest recognition status, the public, business actors and agencies need not hesitate to use the Peruri Sign as a certified digital signature because it can guarantee that the person doing the signature is the authorized party,” said Peruri’s Main Director, Dwina Septiani Wijaya in a written statement, Friday (11/11).

In addition to guaranteed legal aspects, Peruri’s electronic signature (Shield) and Peruri’s digital stamp (Peruri Tera) can help cut time and save costs.

For example, there is no printing of documents, scanning of documents that have been signed to the process of sending documents by third parties, as well as increasing security by minimizing the risk of document forgery and forgery of signatures and is environmentally friendly (paperless).

Electronic documents should be signed using the Shield’s electronic signature and affixed using the Peruri Tera digital stamp so that the document is fully implemented in an electronic system (full-trusted). (N-1)
