Besides being famous for its temples, Singkawang is also famous for its kopitiam. The culture of coffee at kopitiam or coffee shops is indeed strong among ethnic Chinese people.

detikTravel tried out the delicacy of coffee in Singkawang for yourself. One of the best places to enjoy it is at Lotus Kopitiam. Kopitiam is located on Jalan Niaga No. 17-19, Singkawang.

Morning is the best time for coffee at Lotus Kopitiam. This coffee shop is open from 07.00 am and usually closes by midnight.

We ordered hot milk coffee to start the morning. As a companion to drinking coffee, we also ordered toast with Sarikaya jam filling.

It didn’t take long for our order to arrive. The aroma of milk coffee and toast is so fragrant that fills the nostrils. Can’t wait we are made to want to taste it soon.

As soon as the first sip landed in the mouth, it was so delicious. Followed by a slice of Sarikaya toast, it feels very fitting as a friend to drink coffee.

Right in front of Lotus Kopitiam there is a breakfast seller, in the form of yellow rice and also ketupat with peanut sauce. We also ordered a portion of yellow rice with fried chicken. It tastes great too!

In Singkawang, it is common for other food vendors to open breakfast stalls in front of Kopitiam. Can we order the food? The important thing is to buy the drink from the Kopitiam that we have chosen.
