‘Malioboro’ Tasikmalaya is already beautiful, decorated with umbrellas that are more beautiful

Jakarta

The Tasikmalaya City Government continues to beautify the Cihideung Street area of Tasikmalaya City. The road, which is located at the intersection of Jalan HZ Mustofa or “Malioboro” Tasik, is now more attractive with the installation of geulis umbrella ornaments across the road.

The idea from the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, was immediately welcomed by the enthusiasm of the people. While sightseeing and shopping, they took the time to take pictures with the background of the geulis umbrella.

The colorful geulis umbrella is a typical product of Tasikmalaya. However, because it is installed outdoors, this geulis umbrella is made of cloth. The original Geulis umbrella is made of paper that is given a water-repellent coating.

“So it’s good even though it’s not completely finished, it’s more comfortable to go to the city,” said Eka Sonia, a visitor from Indihiang District, Thursday (27/10/2022).

In addition to installing geulis umbrellas, officers from the Tasikmalaya City Environmental Service were seen planting ornamental plants in the Cihideung Street area.

“There are various types of plants that we will plant along the Cihideung road,” said Head of the Environmental Management Division of the Tasikmalaya City Environment Agency, Nunung Nurteti.

Nunung explained that his party planted 48 spruce trees and 14 tabebuya trees. “Besides that, we are also preparing the frangipani tree. But if the frangipani will be put in a pot,” said Nunung.

He hopes that the community or visitors will take care of the planted trees so that they can grow and make the area more beautiful. “The community will take care of it, don’t let it be trampled underfoot. Moreover, later if there are events, usually the trees that become victims are trampled on,” said Nunung.

Previously, the Head of the Road and Bridge Division of the Tasikmalaya City PUPR Office, Wenda Krisnawan, said that for the Cihideung Street area, apart from adding a geulis umbrella, his party was also preparing to build a gate at the mouth of the road. “The geulis umbrella is equipped with lights, so at night it can be a means of lighting. Besides that, the construction of a gate is also being designed,” said Wenda.*
