Kemenkominfo Presents a Series of Parenting and Children Podcast Classes

MINISTRY of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) together with the National Movement for Digital Literacy Cybercreativity and Spotify, cooperates with the Soeara Rakja factoryt to hold a Cybercreative Podcast Class with the theme Parenting and Child.

Class series podcast It will be held online every 18 June to 3 July 2022 and will feature various speakers.

“We hope the class series podcast what we present can be a guide for parents, educators, and content creatorsin producing podcasts themed parenting and children,” said Rizki Amelia, Coordinator of Digital Literacy at the Ministry of Communication and Information in a press statement, Friday (17/9).

Podcasts as a medium for educating

In recent years, podcasts have become one of the most popular audio media in Indonesia.

Based on data from GlobalWebIndex (GWI), podcast listeners from Indonesia are the second largest in the world as of the third quarter of 2021, only behind Brazil, with 35.6% of total internet users aged 16 to 64 years.

In addition, from a rough calculation that discusses the demographics of podcast users in Indonesia, it can be concluded that there are more than 73 million internet users aged 16 to 64 in Indonesia who enjoy listening to podcasts each week.

“With the demographic majority being teenagers who may be planning to start a family or have become young parents, podcasts are the right medium to disseminate information about parenting and child. Plus easy podcast access via the app on smartphoneit is hoped that digital literacy will also increase,” added Rizki Ameliah.

Running for 3 weeks from June 18 to July 3, 2022, Sibekreasi Podcast Class Parenting and Children will be held online for 6 sessions each weekend.

Starting with the first session on June 18, the “Introduction to Basic Podcasting” class will be guided by Rane Hafied, Co-founder of Paberik Soeara Rakjat. This session will explain podcast writing and production techniques, along with reviews of currently relevant podcast content.

The second session on June 19 carried the theme “Landscape and Trends Content Parenting and Children in Indonesia” which will explore current issues and relevant themes in the world parenting and children by Herma Retno Prabayanti as a Communication Science Lecturer.

Followed by the third session on June 25, we will invite our Family Community as a filler for the class theme “Identification of Themes and Content Planning and Execution” by sharing experiences about creating themed content. parenting and child.

The fourth session on June 26 invited participants to get to know the culture of storytelling which has been transformed into a podcast through the session “Fairytales: From Oral Tradition to Audio Podcasts” which will be presented by Ariyo Zidni as Storyteller and Children’s Story Writer.

The fifth session on July 2 will explain how to create educational content targeting children with Budi Kristanda as resource person Podcaster and Music Composer through the class “Educating Children through Audio Content”.

In the last session on July 3, there will be a panel discussion and discussion of selected podcast assignments that have been created by the participants to get feedbackaccompanied by giving tips on using audio for content parenting and child.
