Instagram Announces New Auto-Generated Captions Feature

The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, via a tweet on the Twitter account @mosseri, announced that the new feature “auto-generated captions” will be available on the Instagram service, especially for main uploads in the form of videos.

He said the feature had been waiting for a long time but Instagram finally managed to make the feature happen.

“We are excited to share a feature that can help the deaf community and those who are hard of hearing. Videos on Instagram will now have auto captions, users can choose the option to turn it on or off,” said Adam Mosseri, quoted from his tweet, Wednesday (2/3). .

Previously, content creators on Instagram had to proactively provide a description or “caption” on their videos, of course this method was not instant and took quite a lot of time.

However, with the presence of the “auto-generated captions” feature, now both content creators and users looking for video content can be more comfortable using Instagram’s services.

Quoting The Verge, the language that can be used as an automatic description is still limited to the Instagram service, but in the next few months there will be additional languages ‚Äč‚Äčthat are expected to be able to accommodate Instagram users globally.

The presence of the auto caption feature on Instagram videos is also considered to be able to change the habits of users watching videos or even encourage more “engagement”, but what is certain now is that in addition to helping communities who have difficulty hearing, this feature allows Instagram users to watch videos without the need to turn on their voices.
