How to Enter Windows 10 Safe Mode with Various Options

IN Windows software, you can fix problems with the system by using the safe mode feature. This feature is useful for starting the computer without most of the non-essential features.

There are two versions of safe mode, namely safe mode and safe mode with networking.

The two versions have similar details, but safe mode with networking includes the network drivers and services needed to access the internet and other computers.

When safe mode is enabled, the following can happen.

  • Visible screen resolution is off
  • Some apps don’t work properly
  • Your computer or laptop is running a little slower than usual

To enable safe mode in Windows 10, there are several ways you can do it.

Via F Key

  1. Press the Windows logo key + X on the keyboard.
  2. Hold down the Shift key while clicking Restart from the shut down or sign out menu.
  3. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  4. After the computer restarts, a list of options will be displayed.
  5. Select 4 or F4 or Fn+F4 (following the on-screen instructions) to enter Windows 10 Safe Mode.
  6. If you want to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 or Fn+F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

Via Settings Option

  1. Press the Windows logo key + I on the keyboard to open Settings. If that doesn’t work, select the Start button, then select Settings.
  2. Select Update & Security > Recovery.
  3. In the Advanced section, select Restart.
  4. After restarting the Choose an option screen will appear, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  5. A list of options will be displayed to enter Windows 10 Safe Mode. Select 4 or press F4 to start in Safe Mode. Or if you need to use the internet, select 5 or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

Via Screen when Sign-in

  1. On the Windows login screen, press and hold the Shift key while choosing Power > Restart.
  2. The screen will show Choose an option, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  3. A list of options will be displayed to enter Windows 10 Safe Mode. Select 4 or press F4 to start in Safe Mode. Or if you need to use the internet, select 5 or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

If the Computer Can’t Boot the System

  1. Once the computer is on, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to force shutdown.
  2. Press the power button again to turn on your computer.
  3. At the first sign that the computer logo has been displayed, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to force shutdown.
  4. Press the power button again to turn on your computer.
  5. When Windows restarts, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to force shutdown.
  6. Press the power button again to turn on your computer.
  7. Your computer will be allowed to restart completely and then enter the Windows Recovery Environment.
  8. After entering the Windows Recovery environment (WinRE). Please select [Troubleshoot]. (OL-1)
