de-djawatan Bak Sugar, Paddy Fields and Complementary Fields

The entrance to the de-djawatan is only a small road that can only be passed by medium buses and one motorbike. There is no special impression until you enter the courtyard through the gate.

According to our tour guide, the destinations in Banyuwangi fairly far away if taken from the city. And, de-djawatan is about 1 hour away.

The Banyuwangi de-djawatan gate is just an ordinary fence like those of the residents’ houses. There really is nothing striking about this destination at first glance.

What makes Banyuwangi’s de-djawatan like sugar that ants are always looking for and surrounded by. In fact, if you look closely, the location is surrounded by rice fields and fields.

This patch of forest, similar to the setting of Lord of the Rings, is filled with hundreds of year old trembesi trees. Its magical side is the moss and parasitic plants that creep up its branches like real parts of the tree.

The density of trees in the Banyuwangi de-djawatan also makes the area so shady on hot days. We visited it around 09.00 WIB and it felt very shady.

On the other hand, photographers or videographers must find the best spots to make it feel like they are in the middle of a dense forest. If not, the existing tree gaps will display rice fields as well as teak fields on the sides.
