Solos has a vision to empower everyone to do the work they love in a financially sustainable way,” said Ricky Willianto, CEO of Solos, in a press statement, Sunday (15/5).

Solos, according to Ricky, presents three main solutions, namely: portfolio builder, online shop for serviceand payment solutions for service sellerss.

This solution was created to realize Solos’ mission to help freelancer and solopreneur find new clients quickly.

“Solos was created to help them shorten the time it takes to conclude transactions, which in turn generates more revenue. We want to increase revenue for Asian professionals from $20 per day to $20 per hour,” said Ricky.

Solos is currently a platform e-commerce the most comprehensive and superior services among similar competitors in Indonesia.

“Solos answers the challenges that have been faced by the perpetrators freelancing faced when using similar platforms, such as high administration fees/profit sharing, limited communication with clients on one particular platform, and limited payment schemes,” he explained.

Solos is equipped with technology that makes it easy for freelancer to build website and online store, with front view (storefront) which is interesting and allows the freelancer to showcase their work and services on line and credible.

So that freelancers, Ricky said, no longer need to create a separate website or include a Linktree or tools type that contains their website link, portfolio, phone number, email, and social media because Solos brings all these functions in one place.

Solos is also supported by behind-the-scenes technology (back-end) which helps with project management freelance more easily and regularly, starting from project management, chat, bills, to payment systems.

In addition, Solos provides freedom and flexibility for freelancer to determine how to work with clients, freedom of direct communication with clients, and freedom to determine how to pay with clients.

“Different from platform service search freelance others that limit the means of communication and payment schemes between the client and the freelancer,” he said.

“Solos gives freedom to freelancer and solopreneur to offer their services directly to clients with a communication platform and payment scheme that they can define themselves,” said Ricky.

Currently, trend freelancing is increasing in the world. Solos estimates that currently there are 70 million freelancers and solo entrepreneur in South East Asia. Annual income value freelancers in Southeast Asia reached US$ 93 billion.

World Bank records growth in players freelancing reaching 30% every year with the dominance of the 18-44 year age segmentation.

Study School of Business University of Brighton states that 97% of freelancers are happier than office workers.

The same trend occurs in Indonesia. The Central Statistics Agency recorded 33.34 million people work as freelancer and small business owners until August 2020. This figure rose 4.32 million people or 26 percent from the previous year.

According to Ricky, the supply of workers who want 9-5 hours of work is now decreasing, especially for job categories that are in high demand such as engineering, design, UI/UX, research, coaching (training)and strategy.

In addition to the flexibility factor of time and place of work, there is an underlying social tendency, especially among the younger generation, to find jobs that have meaning for their lives.

This could be doing work that has a positive impact on the world, or even just work that aligns with one’s personal values such as creativity or freedom.

As a result, companies are struggling to fill their workforce, and therefore they are looking for alternative ways to work with the younger generation. Successful companies like Google are already leveraging a contract workforce and freelancers in their business.

In fact, 54% of Google’s workforce is outsource. While SAP found that on average 25% of the workforce of the largest organizations consisted of freelancers and contractors.

According to Ricky, this scheme allows organizations to better manage their resources and maximize efficiency and output they. Organizations with flexible workforces are better able to adjust their costs based on the business environment and situation.

“We believe that there is a major transition in today’s workforce. The new generation prefers freedom, flexibility and impactful, passion-driven work,” he said.

“As a result, people who used to depend on office work are now starting their own businesses enabled by technology and remote work,” he explained.

“Solos wants to be a leading solution for people starting this journey, and a partner that helps them succeed in their business,” said Ricky.

Solos focus on helping freelancer and solopreneur find new clients quickly.

“Solos’ solution was created to help them shorten the time it takes to conclude a transaction, which in turn generates more revenue,” he explained.

Solos is designed to serve the needs of working professionals. Anyone who sells their expertise, skills and knowledge is a target for Solos users.

Solos empowers graphic designers, writers, study tutors, personal trainers, yoga instructors, PR consultants, professional researchers and strategists.

“Currently Solos is focusing on growth in Indonesia. We are currently based in Bali because we believe Bali is the right business center for freelancer, solopreneurand digital nomads“explained Ricky.

Bali is a center for para digital nomads (people who can work anywhere).

According to Ricky, many of the target users of Solos are in Bali because they want to have a balanced lifestyle.

They go surfing and do yoga in the morning, build their business during the day, and then have a great social life at night.

“In addition, Bali is an international-scale city that attracts people from various countries,” he said.

“We think Bali will allow us to build a global community, but also still allow us to maintain our identity as an Indonesian nation,” he said.

“The unique fact, Solos is the plural word for solo – which refers to several solopreneurs working together. The essence of gotong royong is centered on diversity, building community, and working together. For us, Bali represents all of the above,” explained Ricky.

“We believe that freelancers and solopreneurs want to thrive in a mutually supportive community. For that we built a Discord community from solopreneurs and freelancers who want to take their business to the next level.”

“Within this community, we connect members with new clients and opportunities, discuss projects and best practices, and help solopreneurs meet one another so they can collaborate on larger projects,” he says.

“Ultimately we want everyone to be able to do the work they love in a financially sustainable way,” concluded Ricky. (RO/OL-09)

Despite being at the beginning of its evolution, Metaverse is attracting large industry-wide investment globally and in Indonesia, with potential revenue opportunities, according to Bloomberg, to reach US$800 billion by 2024.

IOH Chief Enterprise Data Analytics Officer Chirag Sukhadia said, “Metaverse, which takes us to the next phase of the internet, has grown rapidly in recent years and has accelerated since the pandemic. This provides a huge opportunity for digital telcos to become entry points thanks to the advanced connectivity and lower latency offered by 5G technology. We are excited to play an important role moving forward with our large ecosystem, customer base, and extensive collaboration with giant tech partners, including Meta.”

Chirag believes the key to the future of Metaverse is a thriving ecosystem, driven by three fundamentals: presence, interoperability and customer adoption.

The first is the presence of affordable VR/AR technology devices, such as headsets. The second is interoperability, which means the ability to move seamlessly between virtual spaces while maintaining the same virtual assets; thus, technology standardization becomes important. The last one is massive customer adoption across all segments, not just the younger generation.

According to Chirag, IOH played an important role in shaping the ecosystem with its two flagship products, IM3 and 3, which have a large customer base across all segments.

In addition, the company’s strengthened collaboration with global strategic partners, including Cisco, Ericsson, Huawei, and Nokia, enables interoperability. Donald Trump’s Social Media Will Be Coming to the End of May 2022

The social media app Truth, created by one of Donald Trump’s subsidiaries, is promised to be available to web users by the end of May 2022.

The news was delivered directly by CEO Truth Devin Nunes via the social media platform Truth.

“At the end of May we will launch this PWA (Web Browser) which will allow access from any device,” Nunes wrote.

In addition to preparing a version for the website, Devin Nunes said that the Android version is currently still in the process of receiving approval from Google as the party developing Android.

This means that if Google approves the existence of the Truth application on Android services, there is a high possibility that the number of social media users will increase rapidly.

Previously, Truth was available on the Apple App Store and was warmly welcomed by Donald Trump’s supporters.

The Truth Social company Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) was launched by Donald Trump with a mission to fight tech giants after Trump lost access to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube for allegedly inciting his supporters to violence during the January 6 US Capitol riots.

But social media’s efforts to thrive are now limited by its reliance on Google, which operates an app store with a strong dominance in the smartphone market.

The Truth app is currently only available in the United States, and since its launch on February 21, 2022, it has become the second most downloaded free app on the App Store service.

Trump began uploading on Truth on Thursday (28/4), and became his first upload on his own application after a long hiatus.

TMTG plans to go public through a merger with blank check company Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC).

The deal is being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and is likely to be finalized in a few months. (Ant/OL-12)

Telegram Premium Starts System Trial

The instant messaging service application, Telegram, is testing a subscription system which will later be called Telegram Premium.

Now the Telegram Premium application has appeared with a beta version which means that some general users can already try it.

Launching The Verge, Tuesday (3/5), this application appears on the Apple App Store with version 8.7.2.

The version is allegedly a trial form of a Telegram subscription because it shows a set of stickers and emojis that can be accessed only through a paid subscription.

In the beta version, the most different thing found from the free service is a different set of stickers and of course can’t be downloaded randomly by users of the free service.

For sticker recipients who are not unpaid users, when they try to download premium stickers, the user will be directed to subscribe first to get the sticker.

Officially, Telegram does not want to comment and mentions that the Premium Telegram service will soon be available to the wider community.

However, there are indeed plans regarding the presence of paid services in the application since 2020.

This was revealed by Telegram founder Pavel Durov who said Telegram is set to generate revenue from at least 2021.

Pavel promises that the messaging service, which is currently free, will certainly remain accessible for all users.

However, for new features, later customers may have to spend to be able to take advantage of these features.

That’s why Telegram lately is not only known as an instant messaging application service but also a super application provider.

This means that users can use many services from just one application.

Currently, Telegram has 500 million users on its service and there will definitely be users who will pay to get the features that Telegram has to offer in the future. (Ant/OL-12)
